Day In Clay 2026

Our 13th Annual Local Clay Workshop in Ewen was a wonderful day of pottery making, sharing stories and skills about the land around us, and connecting with friends, old and new, from near and far!

Thank you to everyone who came out to make pots with us, and to all who supported us behind the scenes. We appreciate you all!

Our Staff meet up in Ewen from across the US - weeks in advance - to host the Resident Artists, and teach them the ways of wild clay!

The Residents hand-harvest and specially prepare the clay for us all to use at Day In Clay!

And where would we be without Participants?! Year after year, we’re delighted at the attendance from you all in the Ewen area, and beyond. We love to share our knowledge and enthusiasm for using local, natural materials, and creating art with friends!

Day In Clay is supported by a grant from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council, and our generous donors - families, individuals, and businesses - are crucial to making this all happen.

Thank You: Ewen-Trout Creek School, Ewen Building Supply, Zeal CU, Settlers CU, White Tail Tire, Borseth Insurance, the Colemans, Allens, Seegers, Greenes, Grahams, Sironens, Yoss’s, Gordons, Champagnes, Meszlers, Pickerings!

Thank you all for making our community more connected through clay!
